Here's what they're saying about Gillygaloo's debut album, Little Green Thing:

Gillygaloo is our favorite "family-music" band. Their new album is fun for kids of all ages… including us!'

– Bob Guida and Pat Conte, The Otis Brothers

For more than thirty years, The Otis Brothers have been the Big Apple's preeminent interpreters of pre-blues, early blues and gospel music from the African American tradition. Their recent critically-acclaimed album, The Return of the Otis Brothers: Let's Go to Huntin', showcases Bob and Pat's estimable skills as multi-instrumentalists and singers.

The CD is unbelievable! The label "kids' music" is sort of irrelevant: the textures, the sounds of the instruments, and the swing of the tunes just kicks!

Great music, great musicianship... and it's fun too!

– Louis Giampetruzzi, Kate & Lou

The "First Couple" of NYC's folk scene, Kate and Lou Giampetruzzi are highly-acclaimed musicians, singer/songwriters and recording artists. Lou is the author of Contemporary Accordion (1981), a pioneering tutor for the piano accordion, covering a wide range of styles from blues and English "trad" to norteno and zydeco.

We love the CD, although we're occasionally a little tired of it since it's the only music our 18-month old son Jacob will listen to!!! (Sometimes we override his wishes and listen to something else.) He dances to almost every track. If we go to the stereo cabinet, he immediately demands "soo-shah!"– his word for music, which means "Little Green Thing" although we generally just refer to the CD as "Gillygaloo."

So, congratulations to all of you. Really, your CD is a triumph. The lyrics are clever with witty and wonderful music to back them up, or maybe it's vice versa. The kids are great, too. Inspired actors, all of them.

Exceptional music!  Adorable lyrics! It's great traveling music. Our son snaps his fingers and claps his hands until we reach our destination. We would recommend it to anyone with or without children... since we listen to it ourselves.  It's just FUN! Can't wait for the next CD!

– Lisa and David Ablon

I've been listening to your CD this morning with our son Max. Nice music, nice lyrics and good musicians. My wife and I have been enjoying your music as well as our little Max. (You've really touched his spirit and soul!)  As it's really difficult to find this kind of music here in Spain, it's a great pleasure for us to listen to those old instruments in good hands. Congratulations!

– Oscar Font Cañameras , The Fu-Manchu Jazz Servants

The Fu-Manchu Jazz Servants is a pre-swing traditional jazz ensemble based in Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). It was formed in 2002 under the direction of master trombonist Oscar Font. A "tribute band" in the style of Flecther Henderson and his orchestra, the Fu-Manchu Jazz Servants strive to recreate the sound and excitement of the "Jazz Age" in the Roaring Twenties, just before  the advent of "Big Band Swing." (Note: The Fu-Manchu Jazz Servants website is in Catalan and Spanish.)
