The End of an Era: The Beginning of a New One....

Our 3rd annual benefit concert for The Claremont Children's School on February 5th, 2006 marked Suzi Shelton's last official performance with Gillygaloo. A founding member of the band, Suzi has enthralled our audiences as Gillygaloo's beloved lead singer ever since we first hit the scene six years ago.

A couple of years back, Suzi launched her solo career, writing and performing wonderful original songs geared towards younger kids, the "Below 6" crowd. With the release of her hit debut album, Simply Suzi, in the Fall of 2005 and the formation of her own band, it became clear that she needed to focus all of her energies in that direction. Sadly, Suzi was forced to resign as an active member of Gillygaloo.

At the Claremont benefit concert, Suzi "passed the torch" to our new lead singer, Mamie Minch, as she joined us on stage for the first time to the great acclaim of our kid and grownup fans. Mamie sang a few numbers with Suzi and led us all in a fun number from her extensive "song bag" about a kid carrying water for the elephants in the circus!

All our love and best wishes go out to Suzi as she embarks on this exciting and promising adventure. While she may not be able to perform with the band, Suzi assures us that her heart will always be with Gillygaloo... and all of you, our fans and friends!

At the same time, we welcome Mamie to the Gillygaloo family. We look forward to working and performing with her. Most of all, we can't wait to introduce Mamie to y'all at our next concert--we know you'll love her as much as we do!
